Hi,
This series converts the bttv driver to vb2.
I tested it with two cards:
Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 (has video, vbi and radio) and
Hauppauge WinTV (just video and vbi).
It applies on top of Hans' series to drop destructive overlay support:
git://linuxtv.org/hverkuil/media_tree.git tags/br-v6.4b
Here are the v4l2-compliance results:
v4l2-compliance 1.25.0-5042, 64 bits, 64-bit time_t
v4l2-compliance SHA: 42567298311a 2023-04-21 08:43:10

I suspect you only switched to these new fields in cases where they are needed for the vb2 conversion and kept the fields in bttv_fh to avoid having to change more code than is necessary for that? If so, that should be clearly documented in the commit log & subject line since it currently says 'moved', not 'copied'. The same question applies to patch 5. It's very unclear what it means. If I understand this correctly, then when override is non-0 it will start the video or VBI capture. So at minimum the calls to bttv_set_dma with a non-0 value should use the BT848_CAP_CTL_* defines rather than 0x03 or 0x0c. But it might be better to perhaps change the 'int override' to something like: 'bool start_video, bool start_vbi'. It's much more descriptive. In any case, thank you for refactoring this function. It makes it easier to follow. When streaming video, then starting and stopping streaming from vbi, there are dropped frames in the video stream. This happens both for vb1 and for vb2, although it seems to happen in slightly different places (I think in one case the dropped frame is when you start the second stream, and in the other case it is when you stop the second stream. I have to retest this to confirm this difference). In any case, I don't think it should cause frames to drop at all. I will investigate this when I have more time. The second issue is a bug in the sequence counter, see below. Thank you so much for working on this, once this is merged we can finally get rid of the old videobuf framework. I did an initial review and found a few minor issues. In the meantime I will be testing this series with some of my bttv hardware this week (I hope). I will especially check for PAL support since you only could test with NTSC.
