Not sure what you were testing, but I suspect it is related to my
procmail rules breaking for linux-mm. Upon investigation I noticed that
the Original-Recipient: header is now missing. Bummer, about two dozen
mails to move manually after adjusting the rules to match what kvack is
sending.

Just out of curiosity, why this change?

The old mail server suffered from massive disk corruption last week,
so I took the chance to reinstall with a slightly more modern OS. The
mailing lists should be back to normal now.

Fair enough.

> The mailing lists should be back to normal now.

I'm still struggling with the procmail recipe. linux-mm has always been
the oddball amongst all mailing lists and continues to be so - just in a
different way now. The old recipe looked for
* ^Original-Recipient:.*linux-mm@kvack.org
but that is gone now. Then I changed it to
* ^X-Loop:.*list-linux-mm@kvack.org
and this mail got misplaced[1], as it contained

> X-Loop: owner-majordomo@kvack.org

So maybe the right header to search for is this one.

> Sender: owner-linux-mm@kvack.org

Any chance that kvack can set either X-BeenThere: or X-Mailing-List: as
almost every other mailing list (the ppc ones set X-Original-To, alas)
does?

[1] The copy sent to me directly got properly sorted into my inbox. But
the mailing list copy went into my "no clue" mailbox.

Last test for a while, I hope. Just checking to see if spam filtering
is now functional again.

This is what I use, albeit as:

	* ^Sender:.*linux-mm.*@kvack.org

> almost every other mailing list (the ppc ones set X-Original-To, alas)

I don't see the point in adding it when the Sender: header works fine for
me. Right now I'm more worried about the state of the spam filtering.

Maybe I'm a special kid. I have two filters for mailing lists. The
first simply tries to detect whether the mail comes from _any_ mailing
list. The second then sorts it into the appropriate mailbox. Anything
left over goes into unsorted (95% spam) or list/unsorted (<1% spam) if
it matched the generic mailing list rule, but no specific one.
list/unsorted usually fills up after subscribing to a new list or when
something changed. Not having all the spam mixed in is nice.

My rule to detect mailing lists is this:
 * ^(X-Mailing-List:|X-BeenThere:|X-Original-To:|Original-Recipient:|X-Loop:)

If it weren't for kvack.org and ozlabs.org, it could be just this:
 * ^(X-Mailing-List:|X-BeenThere:)

Not exactly the most important issue for humanity, that's for sure. :)
