Subject: [RFP-V2 1/3] Have mmu_notifiers use SRCU so they may safely schedule.
Date: Mon, 01 Feb 2010 22:01:46 -0600 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20100202040209.178495000@alcatraz.americas.sgi.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: 20100202040145.555474000@alcatraz.americas.sgi.com
[-- Attachment #1: mmu_notifier_srcu_v1 --]
[-- Type: text/plain, Size: 9047 bytes --]
From: Andrea Arcangeli <aarcange@redhat.com>
With an RCU based mmu_notifier implementation, any callout to
mmu_notifier_invalidate_range_start, mmu_notifier_invalidate_range_end,
or mmu_notifier_invalidate_page would not be allowed to call schedule as
that could potentially allow a modification to the mmu_notifier structure
while it is currently being used.
