in dosemu.conf
$_ports = "range 0x378,0x37f"
and run dosemu as root or setuid root (sudo).
ensure that nothing is using that ports in /proc/ioports (the parport_pc
driver may have claimed them in which case you must remove it)
For debug,
dosemu -D+iT -o /tmp/dosemu.dbg.log
and examine /tmp/dosemu.dbz.log to see what is has the problem
accessing.
