Subject: 2 bugs in 1.4.0.0 bin pkgs and/or README.bindist. One fix included.
Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2007 21:23:27 +1000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20070718112530.219BC4@mail.witworx.com> (raw)
I followed (pedantically, as you would expect an ex-IBM Linux instructor to do it) the
instructions in README.bindist for 1.4.0.0 and installed dosemu and its mate freedos.
First bug (minor typo) :
The instructions say:
After you get the install right, you can execute DOSEMU with
$ cd ~mydos/dosemu # (your CWD _must_ be here)
$ ./dosemu
==
The second last line there should be "cd ~/mydos/dosemu"
Of course I was there already by following the earlier instructions......
First login via ssh so I can do an easy screenshot (or two).

Not one of my many guesses got me to a DOS prompt.
Nor could I kill the session without going to another term and kill 9 ing the beast.
I have run dosemu years ago with no problems, at least in getting to a prompt, so I am
perplexed about what is needed here.
I guess that it is at least a documentary update.
Any more info that you need from me?
