All that years long OPL3 is still not
implemented. This is pretty sad. I tried
it a couple of times and you can find the
experemental patch on my page which works
more or less but is abandonned (another
approach is required). You can try it (on
your own risk) and see how good it works
for you.

Yes, this is even stated in dosemu-HOWTO.txt somehow.
Although it is written there that Win3.1 won't
work, I suspect any other versions of Windows
won't either (2.0 doesn't seem to atleast).

Yes. A little more efforts to implement OPL3
and we'd have a flawless sound support, but
it looks like it got stalled for now.
