Hi everybody.....
I'm a newbie with this DOSEMU stuff.
I've installed the dosemu-freedos-bin.tgz and the dosemu-1.0.2-bin.tgz
as the QuickStart says then I executed the ./xdosemu command and I get
the MS-DOS console but when I try to execute (emulate) the program
I get the following message:
This program cannot be run in DOS mode.
So it's weird because when I run it in a real MS-DOS console it works fine.
I don't know if I missed something or if I have to configure some files...
Please if anybody knows what's going on here I'll appriciate your help......
Thanks in advance
Leonardo

Hi
I am using NETWARE 4.11 as N-OS and i have a lot of w98 computers. Now i
wanted to add possibility to remote connect to dos software i used dosemu
but i've noticed that there is some problem (i think it's DBF locking)
becouse if i open locked record (dbf) i get Corruption detected error in
dosemu, and in w98 i get wait while someones stop using that record (on the
same application of course). I map novell drive using nwclient
I'll be glad for your help
Thanks a lot

Forgive me, but I'm having difficulties in posting on SourceForge, so I
decided to email the address listed on the main page..
Does dosemu work (or still work, if that's the case) without X? I see
that in my build, the most currently, xdosemu just links to dosemu..
When trying to run dosemu on a Gentoo machine without X, I'm getting
messages about not being able to connect to Display 0:0.. Any thoughts
that could point me in the right direction would be appreciated.. Just
knowing that it should work would also be beneficial. =)

How did you invoke it?
dosemu or xdosemu
dosemu is a script that parses arguments and invocation name.
dosemu.bin is the dosemu binary.
If you look inside your /usr/bin/dosemu file, or wherever its
installed, you will see where it choses to connect to the
'Display 0:0' or not, based on how its invoked.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those that read
binary and those who don't!
