Hi,
I didn't succeed installing dosemu on my Linux machine.
I have dosemu-1.2.2.tgz  tar -x, so I have dosemu-1.2.2/ dir. In that 
dir. I have put the dosemu-freedos-bin.tgz file (I hope that is correct).
In dosemu-1.2.2/ I only did 'default things': ./configure; make; make 
install.
When I run dosemu (/usr/local/bin/dosemu), and give only <enter>'s ,I get
1.  HMA can't be enabled
2.  UMB's unavailable
3.  FreeCOM: XMSSwap-In: XMS copy error
4.  Cannot terminate permanent FreeCOM instance.

Configuring cursor shape

Hi,

Can configure the cursor shape in DOSEMU? Now I am getting a very thin 
horizontal line at aprox. 1/3 from the top. It is very difficult to see.

This is my rc file (all comments striped off):

In dosemu or xdosemu? Normally, the cursor in xdosemu is the mouse cursor of  
the Window manager you are using i.e. KDE. You configure this cursor in KDE. 
The (blinking) cursor in dosemu depends upon the font you boot your linux 
with. Can be configured in grub (vga=normal or vga=5) or lilo. The cursor in 
input fields in xdosemu depends upon the $_Xfont = "vga" 
in /etc/dosemu/dosemu.conf or $HOME/.dosemurc. If you have installed vga11x19 
try $_Xfont = "vga11x19".

There are several problems:
1. compilation error: look at config.log. Perhaps you are missing a library.

2. Normally you should use the dosemu-freedos-bin from the dosemu website 
including kernel.sys, autoexec.bat, config.sys and command.com and the files 
in /bin. The dosemu-freedos is optimized for dosemu. You could run dosemu 
with MSDOS and DRDOS but not in all aspect with freedos.

3. If you want to boot a DOS partition you can not use dosemu-freedos. You 
could use dosemu with freedos and then mount the DOS partition as drive D: 
and work on that partition. Problems starting dosemu will be logged in 
$HOME/.dosemu/boot.log. Your attached file only shows the start messages of 
the dos you are starting. They show a problem of the dos you want to start, 
not of dosemu.

See /usr/local/share/doc/dosemu especially dosemu-HOWTO.txt although the 
documentation is somewhat outdated.
