How do I install a game off of a cdrom? Or likewise
how do I mount my cdrom /mnt/cdrom/ on a drive say e:\
in dosemu?

The dosemu utility lredir makes linux directories available under
DOS. The command is:

lredir [driveletter]: linux\fs[directory]

This can also be used for access to a cdrom. With the following
command in your DOS autoexec.bat:

lredir e: linux\fs/mnt/cdrom

the cdrom gets the E: drive letter, if the cdrom has been mounted
at the /mnt/cdrom mount point. If no CDROM is mounted, E: is just
empty (and non-writable).

Regards, Jan

Hello.

Make sure your cdrom is available under
/dev/cdrom, and make sure the cdrom.sys gets
loaded in config.sys. Then you can use the
standard drivers to access your cdrom, like
mscdex, shsucdx etc. cdrom not have to be
mounted.
You can also access the mounted cdrom by the
use of lredir, or by just symlinking it to the
drives directory, but this is not practical,
as the cdrom-specific functions like music
playing, direct track access etc, won't be
available that way. Many games will not detect
cdrom and will fail.
