Hi,

I'm having a problem with recent Subversion revisions of Dosemu, I get a
message from HIMEM.SYS which states: ERROR: HIMEM.SYS has detected
unreliable XMS memory at address 00110000h. XMS Driver not installed.

My boot.log:
http://haar.student.utwente.nl/~julius/boot.log

When I disable the memory test and I double click on the top left button
in Wfw 3.11's Program Manager, Dosemu crashes with:
ERROR: EMU86: error 2

This is in boot.log:
http://haar.student.utwente.nl/~julius/boot2.log

I guess this is a new bug in Dosemu? Could anyone still solve this? Let
me know if I can help with it.

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 AMD64. (The version included with Ubuntu 9.10 does
not have this bug, but it has a problem with higher resolution graphics
in Wfw 3.11.)

Regards,
Julius

I don't use HIMEM.SYS. It is not needed, as the default dosemu.conf
provides both XMS- and EMS-memory.

But as far as I'm aware, I need to use HIMEM.SYS to be able to run
Windows. Also this used to work fine before. I'll see if I can find out
in which revision it regressed.

PS: It seems I'm missing a lot of e-mail from the mailing list. I didn't
get this e-mail either. I wonder whether the list is operating correctly.

I just did some regression testing.
The first regression (the HIMEM.SYS error message):
last revision without: 1928
first revision with: 1929

The second regression (Dosemu crashing when double clicking on the top
left menu button in Program Manager):
last revision without: 1962
first revision with: 1963

Note, to test for the last regression I had to add /TESTMEM:OFF to get
HIMEM.SYS to load.

Regards,
Julius
