I already tried 'xset fp default' since I know that worked for me under
RedHat 8 when I had similar problems. This time it fails to resolve the
problem. Here's what I find in the above directory:
ralvy@libranet:~$ ls -l /home/ralvy/dosemu/freedos/../Xfonts

-rw-r--r-- 1 ralvy ralvy 425 Jun 6 15:32 fonts.alias
-rw-r--r-- 1 ralvy ralvy 14 Oct 15 21:00 fonts.dir
-rw-r--r-- 1 ralvy ralvy 24632 Nov 4 1995 vga.pcf
