Hello again.
I'm trying to play settlers 1 using dosemu. It works just fine on my desktop
machine, I can save the game just fine.
Now, if I play it on my laptop with the same dosemu version (1.2.2) and the very
same .dosemu directory and .dosemurc file (copied it over using tar cf and tar
xf) settlers 1 complains that it can't save. The game (not dosemu) gives the
error filesystem full or write-protected. It creates a savefile though, but when
I try to load it, dosemu crashes.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Benjamin

This was fixed in 1.3.2 by
someone's request on BTS:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1164054&group_id=49784&atid=457447
Wasn't this your own request by
any chance? If not - just upgrade
your dosemu and enjoy.

HOORAY! \o/
I just updated and it works fine.
Just another question: why did this work on the other machine (P4, 1GB Ram,
kernel 2.6.11.8) but not on the laptop (P-Mobile, 512 MB Ram, kernel 2.6.10).

No, it wasn't me. I'd have probably remembered... at least I hope so.
Thank you,
Benjamin

Maybe you have the
/proc/sys/vm/legacy_va_layout
enabled on the machine where it
works? I can't think of any other
reasons. It shouldn't work with
the flexmmap layout, so the
legacy layout might have been
enabled on that machine.

a cat on that file gives '0' on both machines.
Well, nevermind, it works and I'm happy :)
