I am using the disk on chip model MD-2800-D08 and the kernel is detecting it as mtd0. When I try to access the device it is saying not a valid device. What may be the problem. 
If any good howto is there for this model let me know, please

You need to include the precise commands you tried to use to 'access the 
device' and the precise error. I'm not going to play guessing games.
