I have in this patch directory some Grub patch ? should I use Grub instead ?
or do I need both ?

can you share me you /boot/grub/menu.lst file ?
and what is the good way to install it on doc ?

You don't need both. Grub needs a little more work which should be trivial 
to do - I've had it booting kernels but there's a bug somewhere.

I don't think I ever bothered to make one. I was just hacking on the code 
itself, not _using_ it.

Something like

title=bzimage
root=(dc0,0)
kernel=/bzImage root=/dev/nftla
