Try the 2 cvs instructions given on the web page.

 cd mtd
 ./utils/MAKEDEV
 make
 cd kernel
 insmod ./mtdcore.o
 insmod ./doc2000.o
 insmod ./docprobe.o
 insmod ./nftl.o
