I have just commited the modified patch script, together with a patchfile for 2.2.17
Assuming your kernel is in ~/kernel, the script can be invoked from the patch directory:
sh patchin.sh ~/kernel mtd-2.2.17.patch
This will create the symlinks, and apply the patch. The links can be recreated anytime
with
sh patchin.sh ~/kernel
I'll create the patches for uClinux (2.0.38 kernel) in the next days.

This came up a week or two ago.
How do I tell Lilo that disk 0x5d01 is really disk 0x80?

bios=' parameter.
The BIOS numbers your disks 0x80, 0x81, etc. and
it is impossible to decide which Linux disk
corresponds to which BIOS disk (since this depends
on the BIOS setup, and on the type of BIOS), so if
you have an unusual setup you need to state the
correspondence between Linux disks and BIOS
disks. For example,
disk=/dev/sda
bios=0x80
disk=/dev/hda
bios=0x81

I read the man page.
I tried all sorts of combinations.
The most logical:
disk=/dev/nftla
bios=0x80
doesn't work. I get the fatal: Sorry, don't know how to handle device
0x5d01.
