I am trying to get Grub to load/work on a DOC2000 128Mbyte MD2202-D128x ver
5.1.2 dip. This is one of the newer ones using INFTL technology. The
doc_loadbios fails. Nand_erase fails with error attempt to erase bad block
at page 0x00000000 ioctl(MEMERASE) Input/output error. How can I get past
this error? Has the doc_loadbios worked on these devices before? Any
advice? Should I just try to use docboot? When using docboot I guess
everything must be built into the kernel since initrd image is not supported
(as the readme says it isn't).
Thanks,
John

Adding initrd support would be fairly easy... I'll try to put together a
patch over the next few days, if you have a need for it.

I'm CC'ing the list on this since other people may benefit.

This sounds like the problem. My guess is that you did not compile MTD
partition support into your kernel. If partition support is not
available, I think only one device (mtd0) gets created, which is not
what you want. See if you can verify that this kernel config option is
turned on.

Since you did a nand_eraseall/nandwrite to mtd0, you erased your
*entire* device, and then wrote docboot to the beginning. Not what you
intended at all :)
Let me know if you have any success. If this works for you, I should
update the docboot instructions to tell people they need partition support.
