Subject: Making X more responsive with nice
Date: Tue, 26 Aug 2003 18:45:29 +0200 [thread overview]

Hi,
I just though of making X more responsive by giving it a higher priority at
startup. A fast graphical interface is more important to me than the speed
of the applications in use. Sometimes when the system is under heavy load,
swiching to X as well as redrawing certain areas of the screen when windows
are moved has a long lag.
One could now use the nice program to give it higher priority.
Before trying I would like to know what you think of this and whether it
makes sense at all.
Thank you,
Axel Siebenwirth

Spock: Captain, it doesn't appear in the symbol table.
Kirk: Then it's of external origin?
Spock: Affirmative.
Kirk: Mr. Sulu, go to pass two.
Sulu: Aye aye, sir, going to pass two.
