I think that must be because the cd does something to enable booting with whatever hw, maybe autodetecting it? About ur answers: Some systems..: Is the same system, the same kernel, the same partition, all the same :o, so i think there must be a way to boot from hd. 'unsuported': Yes, really don't understand very well 'unsupported', u mean I must enable something in kernel?, or that i can't boot in any way?, I can boot from cd...
