Hi,

when you are at the LILO bootloader prompt type
single as an argument to the kernel.
after it boots , type passwd to change your password.

should work, try it out and tell us...

The same should work on grub as well,
there is an option to edit kernel parameters before booting.
try it out.

regards,
Joy.M.Monteiro
