Message-ID: <m33cwubv8e.fsf@wobble.eth.net> (raw)
Dear All,
Is it possible to make a phone call from linux? I have an external
modem that is connected to the phone call. I would like to be able to
dial the local phone numbers (instead of using the phone) and talk.
I have searched the web (google) using the phrases "telephone call
from linux", "phone dial for linux", "make telephone call from linux",
etc. These lead me to "GnoPhone", and "linphone". But they don't
seem to be able to dial another phone. They seem to need
GnoPhone/linphone on the other side too.
What I want is linux box (through modem-telephone line) to another
phone.
Is this possible? Kindly provide me with information.
Thank you for your time and energy.
Cheers,
anna
