Good, I will Acknowledge it.

Yes indeed, I have a patch to address that and I send it now. However, I
guess that this will go on top of Jean-Christophe's gpio patch series.

That looks correct to me. I've just posted a patch to convert
phy_irq_pin to an int and from inspection that shouldn't break anything
by itself.

The macb driver doesn't currently use the phy_irq_pin member, but the
at91_ether driver does and that compares to 0 for no IRQ so the
assignment of -EINVAL _could_.

I've sent a patch yesterday named "iio: Fix build error in
industrialio-core.c" which should fix that.

* [PATCH] regulator: Fix compile break due to missing arguments to regulator_register
From: Rajendra Nayak @ 2011-11-24 7:27 UTC (permalink / raw)
  To: sfr, broonie, lrg; +Cc: linux-next, linux-kernel, heiko, Rajendra Nayak

The commit 2c043bcbf287 ("regulator: pass additional of_node to
regulator_register()") caused a compile break because it missed
updating the regulator_register() call in gpio-regulator.c with
the additional parameter (NULL).

The compile break as reported by Stephen Rothwell with the
x86_64 allmodconfig looked like this

drivers/regulator/gpio-regulator.c: In function 'gpio_regulator_probe':
drivers/regulator/gpio-regulator.c:287:8: error: too few arguments to function 'regulator_register'
include/linux/regulator/driver.h:215:23: note: declared here

* linux-next: Tree for Nov 24
From: Stephen Rothwell @ 2011-11-24 6:43 UTC (permalink / raw)
  To: linux-next; +Cc: LKML

[-- Attachment #1: Type: text/plain, Size: 31619 bytes --]

Hi all,

Changes since 20111123:

New tree: hsi

Linus' tree gained a build failure for which I reverted a commit.

The arm-soc tree gained conflicts against Linus' and the arm trees.

The at91 tree gained conflicts against the arm-soc tree.

The drm tree still had its build failure so I used the version from
next-20111115.

The net-next tree lost its conflict and build failure.

The regulator tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20111123.

The pm tree (re)gained a build failure for which I applied a patch.

The uprobes tree lost its build failures.

The cgroup tree gained a conflict against the pm tree.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" as mentioned in the FAQ on the wiki
(see below).

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64. After the
final fixups (if any), it is also built with powerpc allnoconfig (32 and
64 bit), ppc44x_defconfig and allyesconfig (minus
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES - this fails its final link) and i386, sparc
and sparc64 defconfig. These builds also have
CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED, CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

We are up to 199 trees (counting Linus' and 27 trees of patches pending
for Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Randy Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds.

There is a wiki covering stuff to do with linux-next at
http://linux.f-seidel.de/linux-next/pmwiki/ . Thanks to Frank Seidel.

* [PATCH] crypto: serpent-sse2 - should select CRYPTO_CRYPTD
From: Jussi Kivilinna @ 2011-11-24 6:37 UTC (permalink / raw)
  To: Stephen Rothwell
  Cc: Linux Crypto Mailing List, Randy Dunlap, linux-next, Herbert Xu,

Since serpent_sse2_glue.c uses cryptd, CRYPTO_SERPENT_SSE2_X86_64 and
CRYPTO_SERPENT_SSE2_586 should be selecting CRYPTO_CRYPTD.

* linux-next: manual merge of the cgroup tree with the pm tree

Hi Tejun,

Today's linux-next merge of the cgroup tree got a conflict in
kernel/cgroup_freezer.c between commit 6907483b4e80 ("freezer: make
freezing indicate freeze condition in effect") from the pm tree and
commit 41dfa07cedcc ("cgroup_freezer: fix freezing groups with stopped
tasks") from the cgroup tree.

I think that the latter is a superset of the former (but I may be wrong),
so I used that.

Hi all,

After merging the regulator tree, today's linux-next build (x86_64
allmodconfig) failed like this:

drivers/regulator/gpio-regulator.c: In function 'gpio_regulator_probe':
drivers/regulator/gpio-regulator.c:287:8: error: too few arguments to function 'regulator_register'
include/linux/regulator/driver.h:215:23: note: declared here

Caused by commit 2c043bcbf287 ("regulator: pass additional of_node to
regulator_register()").

drivers/regulator/gpio-regulator.c was added in commit 3f0292ae8bb1
("regulator: Add driver for gpio-controlled regulators") which was
included in Linus' tree before v3.2-rc1.

I have used the regulator tree from next-20111123 for today.

* linux-next: manual merge of the at91 tree with the arm-soc tree

[-- Attachment #1: Type: text/plain, Size: 2723 bytes --]

Hi all,

Today's linux-next merge of the at91 tree got conflicts in
arch/arm/mach-at91/board-cap9adk.c, arch/arm/mach-at91/board-cpu9krea.c,
arch/arm/mach-at91/board-cpuat91.c,
arch/arm/mach-at91/board-snapper9260.c and
arch/arm/mach-at91/include/mach/board.h between commit 84e0cdb0a262
("macb: unify at91 and avr32 platform data") from the arm-soc tree and
commit 1509f4847dd1 ("at91/boards: use -EINVAL for invalid gpio") from
the at91 tree.

I fixed them up (see below) and can carry the fix as necessary.

However, it looks to me that struct macb_platform_data (in
include/linux/platform_data/macb.h) will need its phy_irq_pin members
changed to int as well (which may have other consequences).

I told Neil to put the stub in net/core/dev.c since that's the one and

This header looks to be pretty screwed up:

- Extraneous newline after "struct cgroup_netprio_state"

- Weird special-casing of the CONFIG_CGROUPS &&
  !CONFIG_NETPRIO_CGROUP case looks suspicious.

- Unnecessary use of IS_ENABLED - jsut use #ifdef CONFIG_NETPRIO_CGROUP

- Adds code stubs specifically for the CONFIG_CGROUPS &&
  !CONFIG_NETPRIO_CGROUP case. Doesn't add any for the !CONFIG_CGROUPS
  case.  Seems wrong.

- Uses empty macros for the sock_update_netprioidx() and
  skb_update_prio() which can cause build errors. Should be changed to
  plain old typechecked inline C functions. If that causes build
  errors then something else is screwed up.

- Adds a stub for skb_update_prio() but there's no non-stub version
  of it.

also

- doesn't compile

Needs a thorough redo. Please take a look at the other cgroup
subsystem headers. The basic pattern is

#ifdef CONFIG_FOO_CGROUP
<definitions and declarations>
#else
<any needed stubs go here>
#endif

And that's it.

I have added that tree to linux-next today using
git://gitorious.org/kernel-hsi/kernel-hsi.git as the URL and just you as
the contact in case if issues.

Thanks for adding your subsystem tree as a participant of linux-next. As
you may know, this is not a judgment of your code. The purpose of
linux-next is for integration testing and to lower the impact of
conflicts between subsystems in the next merge window.

You will need to ensure that the patches/commits in your tree/series have
been:
     * submitted under GPL v2 (or later) and include the Contributor's
	Signed-off-by,
     * posted to the relevant mailing list,
     * reviewed by you (or another maintainer of your subsystem tree),
     * successfully unit tested, and
     * destined for the current or next Linux merge window.

Basically, this should be just what you would send to Linus (or ask him
to fetch). It is allowed to be rebased if you deem it necessary.

Legal Stuff:
By participating in linux-next, your subsystem tree contributions are
public and will be included in the linux-next trees. You may be sent
e-mail messages indicating errors or other issues when the
patches/commits from your subsystem tree are merged and tested in
linux-next. These messages may also be cross-posted to the linux-next
mailing list, the linux-kernel mailing list, etc. The linux-next tree
project and IBM (my employer) make no warranties regarding the linux-next
project, the testing procedures, the results, the e-mails, etc. If you
