I did work with someone who was on that project. He had a lot of good stories. TI did a lot of speech and moved to DSP from this.
I did/do have http://www.datamath.org/Edu/Professor-76.htm however. Not as neat but a keeper none the less.

My latest TI-made "toy" has been this one:

- actually i also grabbed the plus module -
and the symbolic math was a real killer application
the emulator runs a bit sluggishly on the n810, albeit the size is more
compelling - i can only hope that on omap3 the speed will be
comparable/faster than on the original.
