It panics after (or when) running init. I'm not sure what the problem is and MontaVista's kernel works fine with my rootfs. The same kernel and rootfs, however, works with our other OSK5912 board.... Here's the log and backtrace of the problem. Appreciate your help on this. ------------------ IP-Config: Got DHCP answer from 0.0.0.0, my address is 157.184.66.207 IP-Config: Complete: device=eth0, addr=157.184.66.207, mask=255.255.255.0, gw=157.184.66.1, host=dhcp-826-16, domain=lrdc.lexmark.com, nis-domain=(none), bootserver=0.0.0.0, rootserver=157.184.66.135, rootpath= Looking up port of RPC 100003/2 on 157.184.66.135 Looking up port of RPC 100005/1 on 157.184.66.135 VFS: Mounted root (nfs filesystem). We experienced similar problems on our OSK5912. The problems are SDRAM setup related and can be solved by updating to the latest U-Boot version. Please download and install the top-of-git version and give it a try. Best regards, Stefan ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread

Anybody have a patch to check this in the board-osk.c? This bug seems to occur repeatedly so it would be nice to patch it away in the kernel also. SDRAM setup has to be done correctly in the bootloader (U-Boot or whatever is used) and can't be corrected later on by linux itself. Is there a newer version of the bootloader? Thing is everything was working fine, until I forced a kernel panic to get a backtrace (my bad). Then this problem started. Any idea where the problem might be from? Thanks! --- Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> wrote: > * Stefan Roese <ml@roese.nl> [060526 00:06]: > > Hi Eduardo, > > > > On Friday 26 May 2006 08:32, Eduardo Gallofin > wrote: > > > I got a problem with the 2.6.16 kernel running > on my > > > OSK. Please download and test the latest version from: http://www.denx.de/en/Software/GIT Please let me know, if your problem still occurs using this version.
