Hi guys,
I am new to linux-omap mailing list, I wrote a couple of emails
yesterday
but I did not get any response yet...
Is there any one testing linux-omap on N810?
I have got a N810 board and I am trying to install ubuntu on it.
Is there any how-to or update instruction I can follow?
Thanks,
Stefano

As far as I know the N810 is a Nokia's device which runs Maemo 4.x OS.
Maemo is an fork of linux OS for that special device.
I think almost all opensourced components are committed to the
linux-omap tree, but official kernels are provided from certain
repository.

Perhaps more useful to ask in maemo.org.

I haven't run linux-omap on N8x0 recently after the board files were
reset to mainline version. But before that, somewhere around May 2009,
it was still working quite well. I.e. fb, nand, mmc, keyboard, musb,
etc. You may find working commit from these threads:
http://marc.info/?l=linux-omap&m=123578444424326&w=2
http://marc.info/?l=linux-omap&m=124190972722908&w=2
Now there is good chance to get it working also on vanilla kernel as
the basic board file just went to mainline. It just needs that missing
pieces from git history are added into board-n8x0.c for those devices
which are in mainline.

Yeah, I saw them. I'm travelling right now and I'm quite slow to answer.

I'm using it occasionally, although due to work I haven't had any spare
time during the last few months. I'm trying to keep N800/N810 support in
shape and add missing feature support to mainline. As anticipated, the
progress is slow :)
There's a wiki page which might help you:

I recommend installing Mer which is based on Ubuntu. The installation is
very easy, but it will be more difficult to use latest kernels. My
ultimate goal is to have Mer support latest kernels, let's see how it
goes.
Here's more information about Mer:

In my opinion it's better to ask about mainline and linux-omap kernels
here. In maemo.org people mostly use the old forked 2.6.21 kernel.

Thanks, this is a good link. I added it to the n8x0 wiki page.

Sorry, I know nothing about mmc and I currently don't have time to study
it. But if you find a solution, please post it here. I'm sure others are
also interested.

I have had problems with internal MMC also. I have not had time to work with
my N810 recently, but am interested in progress.
