From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo Subject: [PATCH 07/15] perf callchain: Mark inlined frames in output by " (inlined)" suffix Date: Wed, 25 Oct 2017 13:00:05 -0300 Message-ID: <20171025160013.11136-8-acme@kernel.org> References: <20171025160013.11136-1-acme@kernel.org> Return-path: Received: from mail.kernel.org ([198.145.29.99]:55236 "EHLO mail.kernel.org" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1751854AbdJYQAt (ORCPT ); Wed, 25 Oct 2017 12:00:49 -0400 In-Reply-To: <20171025160013.11136-1-acme@kernel.org> Sender: linux-perf-users-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: To: Ingo Molnar Cc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org, linux-perf-users@vger.kernel.org, Milian Wolff , David Ahern , Peter Zijlstra , Yao Jin , Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo From: Milian Wolff The original patch that introduced inline frame output in the various browsers used this suffix already. The new centralized approach that uses fake symbols for inlined frames was missing this approach so far. Instead of changing the symbol name itself, we only print the suffix where needed. This allows us to efficiently lookup the symbol for a given name without first having to append the suffix before the lookup.
