Subject: [PATCH 1/3] thermal: max77620: Fix module autoload
Date: Fri, 14 Oct 2016 11:35:00 -0300 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <1476455702-21748-2-git-send-email-javier@osg.samsung.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <1476455702-21748-1-git-send-email-javier@osg.samsung.com>
If the driver is built as a module, autoload won't work because the module
alias information is not filled. So user-space can't match the registered
device with the corresponding module.
Export the module alias information using the MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() macro.
Before this patch:
$ modinfo drivers/thermal/max77620_thermal.ko | grep alias
$
After this patch:
$ modinfo drivers/thermal/max77620_thermal.ko | grep alias
alias: platform:max77620-thermal
