Hi all,
I have a PCMCIA card which has a usb Host Controller (HC) on it. I am
writing Host Controller Driver (HCD) for this. I have pcmcia client
driver which is registering HC as a platform device.i.e. my HCD is a
platform driver. The device representation in linux-2.6.15.4 is given
below.
/sys/class/pcmcia-socket/pcmcia-socket1/device/1.0/myhcd/usb5/5-0:1.0
In my pcmcia client driver i get suspend event when i do selective
suspend of the card (pcmcia-socket1/device in device tree ) . Platform
driver`s suspend entry point is getting called when i do selective
suspend of myhcd. Now if i do global suspend will Power Management
sub-system follow the device tree to suspend the card ? Which means PM
sub-system will suspend 5-0:1.0 , then it will suspend usb5, then myhcd
and then the pcmcia-socket1/device. So does it mean that in global
suspend platform driver`s suspend entry point will be getting called
before the pcmcia client driver`s suspend event ?
Please suggest.
Thanks and regards,
Rasmit Ranjan swain.

Subject: [PATCH 06/19] x86: unify power/cpu_(32|64) copyright notes
From: Sergio Luis <sergio@larces.uece.br>
In this step, we do unify the copyright notes for both files
cpu_32.c and cpu_64.c, making such files exactly the same.
It's the last step before the actual unification, that will
rename one of them to cpu.c and remove the other one.

Nope. Processors is the first failing phase.
I'm still working on getting a bisection, but it'll be a few more days
due to various school-related delays.

Hi Alan,
I have question regarding the CPU frequency subsystem through which the frequency of the CPU is scaled.
e.g. If we have device driver (X device contains processor) that wants to scale its own processor based
upon the workload, (DVFS driver for this processor is implemented and registered with cpufreq subsystem)
then X device driver when detects waorkload, Can this X device driver call policy governor APIS for scaling clock or
this X device driver can directly calls DVFS driver APIs directly?
I just want to know from our device driver how do call DVFS driver if DVFS driver is registered with cpu frequency subsystem?
Regards
Raj
