In particular, when the peer doesn't reply for N LCP Requests and our pppd gives up and terminate connection. What I mean is that, this happens when pppd is restoring TTY line discipline, after tcflush(). I saw this in the source code of pppd 2.4.3 which is what I'm using. Anyway, I'll give the 2.6.17.1 a try and report again tomorrow.
