This was already sent on January 22 2008 for 2.6.25, but on a recent
rebase of my constify branch still was not in for 2.6.29.

I just found this... sorry for being so tardy in responding.
It is in my tree now and will got with the next pull request (don't
know whether that will be .30 or .31).
