Hi all

Anyone that knows what drive vendors that still sell 7k2 desktop drives supporting scterc? WD is all out, and I have the impression that others are following this.

Yeah, sorry. That's the only option I'm aware of in the consumer-grade
drives ever since the hitachi deskstars went away.

The seagate VX series (about $30-$40 more) appear to support it.

I just purchased 5 Toshiba DT01ACA200 2TB drives, and smartctl reports
that they DO support scterc.

Toshiba apparently purchased HGST's 3.5" HDD business from Western
Digital. As a relatively unknown brand, they're probably incented to
maximize the value of their offerings, at least for the time being. (At
$85 for a RAID-friendly 7200RPM 2TB drive, I'd say that they're doing a
fine job!) :-)

HTH

BTW, does anyone know if anyone is maintaining a list/wiki of RAID-
compatible consumer/desktop drives?
