Does anyone know how to determine the order, or how to fix the drive array if
the order is not correct?
If you are not attempting a (complex) repair then it won't matter.
Assuming you can identify the boot device and get the OS running then just do an
'assemble' and md/mdadm will figure out the correct order.
You may however want to record the (new) order for future reference in case you
need to do a complex repair.
