They are both heavily damaged, not just sdc1. Looks like I'm going to have to replace a disk and see. I'd like to avoid replacing two, though. Or going through more crashes. Does MD have a paranoid mode in which reading a sector from a RAID-1 device would not return successfully until it got matching data from at least two components ?
