Just to be clear, this is *not* a hobby system. I mentioned hobby system in my original post just to serve as a reference for my current knowledge level. I've built and configured the simple linux md raid6 NAS box at home, and a similar system for backups here at work. But now I'm looking at something that's obviously a completely different game, with bigger and stricter requirements.
