Our topic was the fast context switch extension (FCSE) for armv5 machines. Gilles made the FCSE actually work and creatively expanded the idea in a useful way. I was able to meet him in person in Dresden on that occasion, and I will remember him as a true gentleman with a good sense of humor. We are thankful for Gilles' many contributions and remember his kindness to those wanting to learn more about real time systems. Rest in Peace! Richard
