It seems a few popular distributions will be locked to 2.6.32, is it
possible to have a 2.6.32-rt?

Dropping a 2.6.33 based kernel on a 2.6.32-based distro is unlikely to
cause any problems.

We skipped 32-rt on purpose and we will not revisit it. What's wrong
with running a 2.6.NN-rt kernel instead of the distro .32 one ?

Security fixes do end up in the stable-Kernel series for a while.
After that you might have to look into farming out, or look into
deploying current Kernels with updates.
