Could you keep the cc: list when replying, otherwise we lose the
tracking information in the bug database and on the list.

Could you try this again with 2.6.15, and then I can try giving you some
sysfs settings to prod to see if the driver can be forced up to 50ns.

OK, I think your sda is target0:0:0

so

cat /sys/class/spi_transport/target0:0:0/period

I think that will say 100

then echo 50 to the same file and try running an fdisk command to force
a renegotiation and see what's in the file.  If it still comes back as
100 then the problem is in the driver.  If not, it's some generic DV
issue.

It's not supposed to.  The content reflects the current rate.  Unless
you send an I/O to the device to force a negotiation to occur, it won't
change.

So you need to do

echo 50 > /sys/class/spi_transport/target0:0:0/period

fdisk /dev/sda 

cat /sys/class/spi_transport/target0:0:0/period

the fdisk will force a partition table read down to the device.
