I'm seeing tons of these ever 2-4 minutes during a raid rebuild (new raid on
new disks)
These are 2tb seagate green 5900 sata disks. I have an external enclosure
attached to an lsi 6gb sas controller.
This happens on ID 0:0:5:0 (first disk, sdd phy-4, in the enclosure) and on
ID 0:0:8:0 (4th disk, sdg phy-7, in the enclosure). I have not seen it on
0:0:6:0 (sde phy-5) or 0:0:7:0 (sdf phy-6). The cable is an sff8088 to
sff8088. The sas controller has an sff8088 connector.
I assume the link on these devices are 6.0gb.
Can someone tell me what is happening?

Ok, I did that. I have not rebooted, but the program did reset the
controller. I did a test on 1 drive like this:
sdb is on phy-0 on the card (which is the one I had problems with)
# dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/null bs=128k count=50000

By the time I get to 500mb, I would have had errors before, no errors at
all.
I have a raid5 (currently degraded as one drive died) as md2 with the disks
at phy-[012]. I ran the same dd (x10 count)
# dd if=/dev/md2 of=/dev/null bs=128k count=500000
437964+0 records in

57404686336 bytes (57 GB) copied, 184.517 s, 311 MB/s
500000+0 records in

No errors again (NOTE: I sent USR1 to dd to get the status). I do find it
odd that the speed is faster at the end.
