The loop/crash occurs during early boot, so it's not possible to login
and run dmesg. I will ask if a serial console is available.

There is 1 disk, 2 CD drives, and 1 zip drive. The system is booting
from the disk, which makes this a bit tricky. The same problem still
occurs when the CD and zip drives have been disconnected.
