I have been playing around with a bunch of the 2.4 kernels over the weekend and found I was able to boot up just fine with my BIOS (1014) set to MPS 1.4. However, I am still using the boot NOAPIC option. Right now I am running under 2.4.18. > GG> My system: > GG> ASUS CUV4X-D ACPI BIOS revision 1004 > GG> 1179648 KB RAM > GG> 2 CPUs - Pentium III (Coppermine), GenuineIntel > GG> cpu family 6 > GG> model 8 > GG> stepping 6 > > GG> The error: > > GG> ENABLING IO-APIC IRQs > GG> ... changing IO-APIC physical APIC ID to 2 ... ok. > GG> ..
