The ide-drivers are from 2.4.19-rc2 because vanilla 2.4.18 does not recognize my VIA IDE-Controller. Everything works fine, and according to /proc/interrupts the apic is used. The via-ide-driver complains that it can't find an interrupt for the controller, but it does no matter if the APIC is used or not. After complaining, the driver uses IRQ 14 and 15 for ide, which works fine. greetings, Florian Pflug
