It's not a problem unless you are experiencing other system problems. Linux contains a list on known IO APICs and this one is just not recognized in 2.4.20 (which was released 2002-Nov-28). There have been many updates to IO APIC recognition since then, so if you are concerned about it, download & use a newer kernel. ~Randy
