Subject: system hungs with SMP 2.4 kernel
Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2002 21:09:11 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <3CB5DF57.2020700@tsc.uniovi.es> (raw)
Dear Sir/Madam:
I'm using a two 1GHz Pentium III processors computer
with an ASUS CUV4X-D motherboard. When trying to
boot with the 2.4 kernel of the RedHat 7.2 distribution,
I find the warning:
WARNING: unexpected IO-APIC
Short afterwards, the system hungs. The last message is
"checking TSC synchronization accross CPUS"
The system boots normally with the 2.4 kernel without SMP and
with the 2.2 SMP kernel of RedHat 7.0.
Any suggestion?.
Best
