I own also a RC440BX motherboard from Intel. I got my sound running with the alsa drivers for linux. I run a SUSE distribution kernel version 2.0.36. It works just fine, downloaded the software, compiling it, loading the modules and there it was. This is the URL for this site, I can tell You the drivers work very well. http://alsa.jcu.cz/ Note: You must install the driver for the Ensonic PCI soundcard. >-----Original Message----- >From: hassan@cygnus.its.super.net.pk [SMTP:hassan@cygnus.its.super.net.pk] >Sent: zaterdag 13 februari 1999 19:20 >To: linux-sound@vger.rutgers.edu >Subject: Not-Cheap sound card > >Hi! > >While you people are discussing problems with 'cheap' pci sound >cards, I am struck with 'crystal' sound card thats built into intel >440BX board (definately not cheap). > >Using Redhat, although I have tried configuring it using setup, >providing the correct IRQ, DMA and I/O ADD, modprobe reports error >Can anyone tell me where to look for help.
