I have an off-brand Sound Blaster-compatible card. The test sound that
plays when sndconfig is run works perfectly. the rsynth package work
perfectly. To use sound in Quake2, it had to set the bitrate to 8.
None of the MP3 players that I have downloaded play the songs right.
Most of them don't play at all. One that works (mpg123, i believe),
only plays the file at what seems to be half-speed. Does anybody have
any ideas? I think that it might be a problem with the 16-bit mode not
being recognized.
