I improve readability i would suggest:

ep93xx_spi_dma_finish(espi, DMA_DEV_TO_MEM);
msg->status = PTR_ERR(txd);
dev_err(&espi->pdev->dev, "DMA TX failed: %ld\n",msg->status):
return;
