Subject: [uml-devel] Bug with hostfs when not specifying host dir in fstab
Date: Thu, 4 Sep 2003 14:12:46 -0300 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20030904171245.GA30388@ime.usp.br> (raw)
Hi,
Something changed in hostfs in the past months so that now, this line in
fstab will kill UML on boot:
none /host hostfs defaults 0 0
Changing it to:
none /host hostfs /,defaults 0 0
does what I want. Additionally, doing this on the command line:
mount -t hostfs -o defaults none /mnt
also kills UML. Here's the backtrace:
#0 panic (fmt=0xa01e2107 "kernel BUG at %s:%d!\n") at panic.c:52

I have no time to look at this right now, but maybe its an useful
bug-report, and perhaps someone who knows hostfs better than I can quickly
identify the problem. The kernel is 2.4.22-1 usgin TT mode.
best regards,
