For in6addr_loopback, like this, in arch/um/Makefile:
CFLAGS += $(CFLAGS-y) -D__arch_um__ -DSUBARCH=\"$(SUBARCH)\" \
$(ARCH_INCLUDE) $(MODE_INCLUDE) -Dvmap=kernel_vmap \
