Subject: [uml-devel] Something wrong with booting the UML in new kernel

Hi,

I had recompiled my host kernel with setting the EXT2_FS_SECURITY and EXT3_FS_SECURITY in filesystem configuration. My UML is OK before doing this, but now I can not boot the UML in the new-recompiled kernel. It just went to the step...

[root@RH9 linux-2.6.17]# ./linux root=/dev/sda1 rootflags=/ rootfstype=hostfs ro con0=fd:0,fd;1 init/bin/sh -l
Checking that ptrace can change system call numbers...OK
Checking syscall emulation patch for ptrace...OK
Checking advanced syscall emulation patch for ptrace...OK
Checking for tmpfs mount on /dev/shm...OK
Checking PROT_EXEC mmap in /dev/shm/...OK
Checking for the skas3 patch in the host:
  - /proc/mm...not found
  - PTRACE_FAULTINFO...not found
  - PTRACE_LDT...not found
UML running in SKAS0 mode
Checking that ptrace can change system call numbers...OK
Checking syscall emulation patch for ptrace...OK
Checking advanced syscall emulation patch for ptrace...OK

Just down to this step, and not any response next...

I guessed maybe the kernel of UML didn't support the XATTR of filesystem and then I reconfigured the UML and set EXT2_XATTR, EXT2_FS_SECURITY, EXT3_XATTR, EXT3_FS_SECURITY to "Y". But after I recompiled the kernel of UML and run it, I was given the same message mentioned above.

What should do next? Could anybody give me some advices?

Thank you very much~

Best Regards,

An Ching
