It looks like one of two USB 3.0 controllers disappeared.
If it's Renesas, enabling CONFIG_USB_XHCI_PCI_RENESAS should bring it back.
If not, please post dmesg from 6.12 boot. There should be some xHCI error
message there.

Please post
sudo dmesg -t
for both kernels.

Thank you Michał, you nailed it!
Not a kernel bug but a setting error. I copied the kernel config from 6.11 and
the Renesas config option was disabled by default. I'm now a happy user of 6.12
:)

You should check in a build between these two and report whether the devices
are present or missing, repeating the process until you find the single buggy
commit. If Bisect is not possible, you should provide detailed `dmesg` output
from both the working 6.11.11 boot version and the buggy 6.12.11 boot version.

This issue was cleared by adding the proper setting for 6.12.11 kernel config.
It has RESOLVED ANSWERED status.

It was a spammer, no need to respond.
And for the record, this issue has been fixed and CONFIG_USB_XHCI_PCI_RENESAS
is no longer required for all Renesas controllers, only for those which really
don't have firmware flash connected to them and must be loaded by software. In
this regard, recent v6.12.y and later releases should behave like v6.11 or
older.
